SWOOOOOOSH.
That was just the sound of March flying past us. Just like that, that the first quarter of 2016 has come to an end.
I’m happy to share that March was a productive month for the blog. Saffrontrail.com got the highest traffic it has seen in 10 years and things can only get better from here. My post on a homemade face scrub got a a huge number of views surprising me no end, as to how we just love simple, everyday, DIY things. If you thought something is too simple and boring to be shared, then think again! That could just be the viral post you were looking for
Like I tweeted the other day, the thing about 1st of April is that it gives you a second chance in the year to start things afresh. The start of a new financial year presents us with the opportunity to put things in place, draw out fresh plans and set the ball rolling on things that we did not kick off at the start of the year.
This April, we take off on a much anticipated family holiday to Europe. And it’s been quite some time since we took a proper break from work. So that’s the main agenda for April – to let our hair down, walk A LOT and make wine and cheese our main food groups (no wine for the kid, of course).
Hey, I’m not leaving my readers stranded! Perish the thought. My April calendar is full and exciting! Recipes from freshly harvested sweet potatoes and pumpkin from the kitchen garden, more summer salad recipes and a post on dealing with leftovers, which our fridge shelves are forever burgeoned with. As we dip our toes into the mango season, how can I not have raw mango recipes for you? Ah, the mouth waters even as I type that. I’ll also be blogging my travel stories from Europe. So that’s the full agenda for April.
Also, I’m kicking off April with a collaboration with a brand I love! To know more on that, you can follow me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. I can’t wait to share more updates on that sometime next week.
If you have any cool, non-touristy food and drink reccos for Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, I’d love to hear from you. Please leave me a comment or tweet to me @saffrontrail 🙂
