Golden Goodness

As per the rules of Jihva for Dal, hosted by Sailu– I’m posting the entries I have prepared for the event.

Dal is an everyday feature in our house-in some form or the other as it’s the vegetarian’s best source of protein. Do check out the Ton of Protein series written by Vaishali.

I cooked up a traditional recipe of vegetable with dal-Cluster beans Paruppu Usili and a Khichdi with Dal which a mixture of rice and lentils.

There’s also a 4 lentil pancake made from the 4 dals shown in the picture above. The recipe for which I shall share soon!

Cluster Beans Paruppu Usili

Comfort Khichdi

Other Lentil recipes I’ve blogged so far:

Lasooni Dal Palak (Garlicky lentils with spinach)

Handwo (Savoury mixed lentil cake )

Beetroot Sambhar (Beets and lentils )

Hey, btw, I made your Lasooni Dal Palak a couple of times in the meanwhile. Lip-smachingly good. It is awaiting its turn in one of the next editions of Blog Patrol.

Thanks all of you! And Vaishali- i myself LOVED the taste of the lasooni dal palak, it actually came in a DNA (a Mumbai news daily) Sunday Magazine-recipe belongs to a chef from JW Marriot-this same recipe that can be made with household ingredients would cost us atleast Rs 500 if eaten in Marriot LOL!! SO enjoy!I was wondering what’s happening with the blog patrol-glad to know that the next one is one it’s way…

Nandita,I have known it all along that it is a recipe that you got from elsewhere. But I don’t really care. For me, it is ‘Nandita’s recipe’. Because I, sitting miles away from India, have no other means of getting it from that newspaper or the chef. So, when Blog Patrol presents its report, it is gonna be ‘Nandita’s Lasooni Dal Palak’. Do you object?

I have no objection LOL! But I make sure I give credit to the chef whose recipe this is. Baadme, humne banaaya toh humara hi hua na 🙂
