As a kid, I must have flown all of two or three times. Those were the days when there were only full service airlines. It used to be way too exciting going through the check in and security check formalities. Getting into the plane and waiting for the hot towels, toffees and cotton plugs for the ears to come by in dainty wicker baskets… those things have completely vanished from today’s domestic flying experiences, haven’t they? And the food would be served in ceramic trays, silverware and cloth towels. There would be so much excitement to open the foil covering the trays and peek into the mini portions of food.
The wow factor of eating a meal 35000 feet in the sky was quite unparalleled as a kid. The innocence of enjoying the moment, without being overly critical of things, wonderful days right? I have seen the same thrill my kid experiences on flights, even though he’s flown way too many times in his six years 😀
