  • Sleepover prep morning! When preparing food for a bunch of kids, I prefer to make as much of it in advance. Rather prepare things that can be nicely warmed up in the oven when they are ready for breakfast. Enjoyed this 'extra' waffle with a blueberry sauce made from frozen berries and a dusting of icing sugar. The last pic is the bit we garnished with some cocoa almond spread and the combination was quite yum! This year I'm making this big batch of waffles using a Belgian Yeasted Waffles recipe from @kingarthurflour website-- comes highly recommended in the waffle maker reviews on Amazon.   • I wrote a post on my blog recently on how November was the month of making. This was one of the things I made. For the first time, under the expert guidance of my neighbour Aunty, I learnt and prepared this Amla Pickle. I’m so much in love with the flavour in this one and I’m not even a pickle fan. Also, we consider making granolas and nut mylks cool- how about making pickle making cool again? Go learn some winter specialty pickles from your grandma/ mum/ relatives / neighbours. Our older relatives and neighbours are more than eager to share their knowledge. I can’t tell you how happy it made Aunty that we showed interest in learning her recipe and we actually tried it at home. 💕💕💕 . On a funny note, my househelp was a bit worried if this is my next hobby after soap making, esp given the mess this leaves behind. I reassured her that this is definitely a one off thing 😂 #saffrontrail
  • This recipe is a 5 ingredient wonder. I first had this Beet Dip with Feta at this restaurant /bar The Refuge in the @theprincipalhotel Manchester. It was one of the small plates served as a part of dinner and the flavours were unforgettable. . It’s not a Beet Hummus. No chickpeas in this one. The saltiness of the feta complements the sweetness of the beets like no other. The crunchy crackers along with this silken dip make an addictive snack. . Purée together — 5 small boiled and peeled beets 50-75 gram feta 2 cloves garlic . Top with another 50 gram crumbled feta, swirls of extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of dried thyme. Add some crushed toasted nuts for a crunch—in my excitement I forgot to add these. Pistachios will add the perfect color contrast. .   • I'm often in complete denial of my bad hair days. I remember friends telling me that I need to fix my hair before I show up in a YouTube video. Yes, that bad! Going to a salon is most of the times as anxiety inducing as going to the dentist. For the flaws they'll point out, for the problems they will unearth. I finally took the appointment at @blown.in this week. . A quick moisturizing hair mask and a hair cut (nothing too dramatic or different from my previous look) I came off feeling pretty refreshed and a little more confident about my hair :) The stylist Rekha said my greys look dope and my skin and hair are in great condition for some one who's nearly 42.
